The Costa Blanca North enjoys a spectacular coastline. Rising cliffs, rocky inlets, pretty coves and beautiful sandy beaches. Spain is the second most mountainous country in Europe. This area is pretty and very green
The Costa Blanca enjoys a wonderful climate, being fairly hot in summer but not very cold in winter.
This is a wonderful family area with plenty to do and see apart from the lovely beaches. If you want to explore the region, why not drive to Guadalest? Go inland to the Jalón Valley to sample wine, travel along the coast to Altea, visit Terra Mitica in Benidorm with the children or take them to Aqualandia (water park) or Mundomar to enjoy the dolphins. Terra Natura is a zoo and Aqua Natura a waterpark and Aitana Safari Park (off motorway at Villajoyosa) are also a must.
HOW TO GET HERE
The easiest way to get to Javea is by direct flight to Alicante and there are many charter and scheduled airlines. From here, we recommend hiring a car, which can be arranged prior to travel and then driving to Javea. The journey takes just over an hour and is very straightforward, mostly all motorway. Help with car insurance in Spain is here.
It is also possible to fly to Valencia which is about an hour and a half away. Or a third option is Murcia airport to the south of Alicante.
CAN I WALK TO THE BEACH?
We are often asked if it is possible to walk to the beach from the villa. The short answer is no. In Spain and in particular our beautiful area of Javea it is often not possible to walk to the beach. Typically Spanish towns and resorts are full of apartment blocks. The villas tend to be built on the outskirts giving an escape from the hustle and bustle of the beach areas.
I don’t think in Javea you will find one villa within walking distance to the beach. However we do have restaurants and bars within walking distance plus two beaches within less than 5 minutes drive.
Our villa is perfectly set in the green hills close to Javea’s Cabo La Nao lighthouse. The most easterly point in Spain we have glorious sea views and peace and tranquility.
WHERE IS THE VILLA?
We are located in an area of Javea known as Costa Nova. The word Javea you see below on the Google map is actually slightly deceiving because this is just the old town part of Javea which is full of apartments where many of the locals live. There are no villas there.
The part of Javea you should be most interested in is the Arenal (beach) area which is naturally full of lively bars, restaurants and shops. This area is only 5-10 minutes drive away from our villa.
Also we have two other fantastic beaches with turquoise waters, ideal for snorkeling, near us less than 5 minutes drive.
